Established in 2001, the company produces and markets biological control agents. Most of them wasps which parasitize eggs from the major pests of large crops. With wide international recognition, it was elected by the Fast Company (USA) magazine in 2012 as the most innovative in Brazil and the 33rd in the world. In the same year, BUG received the World Technology Award from the US media – CNN, Time, Science and Fortune – in the area of sustainability. In 2013, it became the first company in Latin America to join the select group Pioneers of Technology of the World Economic Forum.
